Robert Kelly works in the mediums of painting, drawing and printmaking and installation. He is a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland, a member of Black Church Print Studio, Dublin and Creative Spark Print Studio, Dundalk. He has had numerous solo exhibitions and exhibited widely in curated group exhibitions in Ireland, England, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Germany and Denmark. His work is held in public, corporate and private collections.
He exhibits paintings in the EDGE exhibition created during a residency in Cill Railaig in 2018.
He is one of six international printmaking artists invited to participate in a week long Graphic Symposium Residency in Denmark in June 2019
Commenting on Robert’s work the well renowned Irish artist Lennon made this remark:
“Although everyone seems to want to make art understandable, the really interesting thing is that it escapes, its somewhere at the edge of consciousness, of what we can be aware of, that is its value”
Or as Wittgenstein put it “What we cannot speak about we must pass over in silence”

“To me all art is ultimately about perception. I’m fascinated by the interconnectedness of things and through my work seek to explore space both visible and invisible. I like to think my work alludes to a type of visual poetry that emerges from a space where experience, memory and imagination collide through the interaction of materials and printmaking processes.”
