A visual artist with a background in art education he currently works in the medium of painting, printmaking, photography and Installation.

His practice is studio based and process led where themes of interdependence and interconnectivity emerge where the ongoing development of the image is a product of intuitive feeling, negotiation of visual elements and material processes.

An aspect of this exploratory approach is a focus on making images unique to the process of their making.

Spectator focus is directed to the perception of the object and on the liminal space that exists between what is real and what is illusion.

Kelly is a member of the Black Church Print Studio in Dublin, Creative Spark print Studio in Dundalk, Louth Craftmark and a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland.

He has exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions. He has wide experience exhibiting in curated exhibitions and his artistic career also includes International exhibitions in Spain, France, England, Germany, Denmark and Bulgaria.

Artist Statement

“To me all art is ultimately about perception.  I’m fascinated by the interconnectedness of things and through my work seek to explore space both visible and invisible. I like to think my work alludes to a type of visual poetry that emerges from a space where experience, memory and imagination collide through the interaction of materials and printmaking processes.”
