‘Anything creative allows one to find oneself and loose oneself at the same time’.
This past year has imposed restrictions on all of us. I have been fortunate in having an outdoor space and have enjoyed painting my garden flora. Travel restrictions meant becoming more familiar with the local scenery within our 5km boundary. I have emerged from what could have been a negative experience with a positive myriad of ideas to carry me forward. I look forward to sharing them with you.
My work is inspired by images, memories and emotions experienced while travelling. Landscapes and the play of light on natural surfaces such as flowers or water continue to evoke strong feelings. The aim is to capture an essence of a time and a place emphasising certain aspects in a simple statement either in watercolour or pastel.
