Recent work is based on visits to Girley bog in County Meath. It is a heritage site, and is an example of a raised bog. You are looking up at it and you can see the layering of bog over time, different colours and textures seen in cross section. Plants, mosses, grasses exist with insects in this regenerating landscape. I have made paintings on wood repeating this layering using thick and thin oil paint arriving at an image that is solid like weathered corten steel.
